Sadly we have to report the death of one of our founding trustees, David Riley who died on 1 February.
Back in 2013, David was one of the team who implemented the vision for HMSST as a local Herefordshire charity supporting the MS community. He had the necessary desire and purpose to fill the role of trustee, and he did so very successfully during the first years of the trust. His insight and input at trust meetings was invaluable, and we were disappointed to lose his services as trustee late in 2014, but knew that he continued to support the work of HMSST ‘from the outside’.
David was born in 1942 in Colne, Lancashire and went to Nelson Secondary Technical School after passing the 11+.He completed an Engineering Apprenticeship in the Polymer Industry in 1964. He represented Colne at cricket in the Lancashire League.
In 1975 David was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. As well as HMSST, he served on other local committees in the pro-active support, with the help of volunteers, of MS community members.
We are grateful. Thank you.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to Betty and the family.
